4.Next steps:

1)put together a draft of what we want to create (site map to list resources and

trainings with short description of each (draft of this to be completed by February

  1. Accreditation issues for Fall 2017 to do in the Spring 2017:
  • Is there regular and sustained interaction between instructor to student? Suggestions:     Self assessment (pretest and posttest)

Quantitative data would be 80% do this pre/post

  • Provide professional development to define what sustained interaction is and then give

examples and then the instructors self assess if they are doing it.

Idea: Google form to describe what questionaire will look like for self assessment (put on

agenda for January and possibly implement February)

Discuss DE Liaison

  • Wants all resources on one page
  • Rethink how page is presented- two paths 1)Technology workshops/events

                    2)Tools etc

  • EMC branched into two paths 1) Learning for Technology for Teaching (classroom based/face to face) 2) Learning for Technology for Teaching online (aka iTeach online)
  • EMC currently lists resources in a blog format which can be misleading for users. Example: Laulima Challenge blog shows all resources available but leads with the Laulima Challenge info
  • Warren proposes a simplified version/map to show faculty the resources available
  • Proposal of 1 page for professional development, 1 page for resources
  • EMC creates a new page that is “basic list” of events, resources, etc
  • Learned to navigate through the emc homepage
  • Rachel proposes training/orientation to teach Liaisons what is available with EMC and what is possible then teach us how to get there
  • Challenge of determining where to put information-does it go in iteach or in teaching or both?
  • Next step: 1)put together a draft of what we want to create (site map to list all the things out w short description and then do an orientation/training to let Liaisons know) 2)put together a document w expectations of LIaison
  • By end of Spring 17 semester goals are1) get site map (draft of this by Feb. meeting), 2) get Liaisons trained on what EMC offers and how to find it (March meeting) and invite others to that meeting who might be interested in being a Liaison  and  3) create document explaining what Liaisons are, who they are and why we exist (draft by Feb meeting) 3) get buy in from Div Chairs (after training of Liaisons)
  • Beginning of semester, middle of the semester, end of semester Laulima information Can it be put down when to expect the challenges to be offered.
  • Ask Randy to create a shortcut to get to site map from EMC page

Accreditation issues for Fall 2017 to do in the Spring 2017:

Is there regular and sustained interaction between instructor to student?  Accreditation gives guidelines.  How do we create a training, to teach faculty to know what “interaction” is and make sure that our instructors were doing that?

Suggestions: Self assessment (pretest and posttest)

Quantitative data would be 80% do this pre/post

Provide professional development to define what sustained interaction is and then give examples and then the instructors self assess if they are doing it.

Idea: Google form to describe what questionaire will look like for self assessment (agenda for January and possibly implement February)

Div chairs being given/presented this next week for buy in
