A New iPad?

santaDid Santa give you a new iPad/tablet for Christmas? If so, use these instructions to setup your iPad to check your hawaii Gmail and use the Leeward wireless network.

  1. Setup automatic wireless access for your iPad – this allows you to use the Leeward wireless network while on campus without having to login each time.
  2. Setup your email on your tablet – this allows you to easily check your hawaii.edu email using the mail app.  (For Android devices use these instructions.)
  3. Setup iCloud and Find My iPhone (For Android devices activate Device Manager.)

Automatic wireless access for mobile devices on campus

Use the Leeward’s wireless network instead of your data plan on your mobile devices! You can configure your laptop and other mobile devices to automatically bypass the normal wireless login process and immediately connect to the LEE wireless network.

To setup a passthrough, go to http://www.hawaii.edu/wireless/pt. To complete the passthrough setup process, you will need:

  • Your UH Username and password
  • The MAC Address of your device
  • A description of your device

Passthroughs expire after 1 year, and each user is allowed a maximum of 10 passthroughs to be setup at a time. Passthroughs are registered under your UH username and you are responsible for the activity of these devices while they are connected to the LEE wireless network.
